For over 20 years, Independent Hands Community Recreation Center has been a trusted pillar in the Hampton Roads community, providing inclusive, adaptive recreational services for individuals with intellectual disabilities and physical challenges. What began as a vision to create a safe, empowering space for all abilities has grown into a thriving, fully handicap-accessible 90,000-square-foot facility—equipped with specialized programs, adaptive equipment, and an indoor swimming pool designed for therapeutic and recreational use.

Our sister company, Giving Hearts, was founded with the same spirit of compassion and dedication. Focused on in-home care and support services, Giving Hearts has spent the last two decades helping individuals live with dignity, independence, and joy in the comfort of their own homes. From daily living assistance to emotional support, Giving Hearts is known for its personalized care, experienced staff, and unwavering commitment to the people we serve.
